Rovinj Wedding

We've been traveling quite a bit lately, so I have not posted in a while.  Val, my wife, arrived two weeks' ago yesterday and the day after we headed for Istria.  First stop -- Rovinj.  I had been there before with my brother.  It is a very Italian, very romantic seaside town with great views and incredible sunsets.  I got the "A" photo on the way out of town.

Friday evening there were heavy thunder showers.  I had to walk from the restaurant to our room and back to get cash to pay for a lousy meal, because they didn't accept cards.  If you're ever in Rovinj, don't eat at Lampo.  On Saturday, the weather cleared to reveal a cloudless blue sky capping the azure waters of the Adriatic.  We hiked up the hill to the Church of St. Euphemia, the patron saint of Rovinj.  She was a Christian martyr who was tortured by the Romans and then fed to the lions who only nibbled on her arm.

Somehow her sarcophagus floated to Rovinj where a small boy with the aid of a couple of donkeys managed to haul it to the top of the hill where it rests today.
We left the church to walk around the plaza from which there are spectacular views.

Suddenly, a small band formed in the plaza, began playing, and well-dressed folks began dancing.  It was a wedding party.  What a treat.  Enjoy my first ever video.
