Last Saturday, Tom and I took the train to Lublijana. The photos I have are Tom's because I accidentally erased my memory card. Lublijana's center is unique. It looks like a stage set. There is beautiful river, criss-crossed with bridges, and lined with cafes. Looming over the town is a castle, which is a modern reconstruction on the original foundations, but the view from up there is spectacular. Most everything in the center was designed by Pletcnik, the local architect-hero. There are a couple of interesting churches, but the main activity is enjoying the cafe life.
